Are you in favor of increasing the UCCS Student Activities Fee to expand the funding of student clubs and organizations, help the Student Government Association (SGA) co-sponsor events, bring additional speakers and events to campus, showcase the diverse aspects of student clubs, support student engagement staffing, and allow the Student Government Association members to receive a small stipend for service?
The Student Activities Fee has not experienced a fundamental change since 2008, while participation in UCCS student clubs, organizations, and activities, along with overall campus enrollment, has grown significantly. This will be a permanent increase of the fee from $16.06 per semester ($8.03 in the summer) to $30.40 per semester ($15.20 in the summer), with the increase effective in the fall semester of 2024. If needed, this fee may be increased each year by no more than the rate of inflation as measured by the federal consumer price index (CPI), not to exceed 10% annually. This funding will allow UCCS to remain competitive with other universities in providing a vibrant, thriving, engaging, and fun experience for all students. A lack of additional funding would result in the loss of club and organization functions, student events, speakers, and staffing that sustains and advances student programming on campus.
Are you in favor of a Green Action Fee of $6.39 per student in the fall and spring semesters and $3.20 in the summer semester that supports the Green Action Fund? Established in 2011, the Green Action Fund (GAF) supports student, faculty, and staff sustainability projects that conserve resources, reduce the campuses' environmental impact, and provide real-world learning opportunities. The GAF Committee, led by students and advised by a staff and faculty member, votes on what projects receive funding. The Committee manages GAF’s operating and project budgets with the support of the Office of Sustainability. If needed, the fee may be increased each year by no more than the rate of inflation as measured by the federal consumer price index (CPI), not to exceed 10% annually. Please select Yes, No, or Abstain.
