What is your academic major/educational track?
- I am a junior in the Bachelor's of Social Work program with a minor in American Sign Language.
Why are you running for this position in the Student Government Association?
- I am enthusiastically running for the Senator-At-Large position due to my dedication to serving and assisting others. Within my current role in Student Government, I have seen the impact Student Government makes on UCCS campus life, facilitating students' desired college experiences while advocating for their wellbeing. My genuine passions lie in enhancing student life and promoting basic needs access, and I feel Senator-At-Large would be an ideal position for me to make a meaningful contribution.
What past experiences would make you a great candidate for the Student Government Association?
- I possess a diverse background in leadership roles, including my current positions as secretary for Active Minds, senator-at-large for Student Government, and president for Women in the Public Sphere. Additionally, I actively engage as a participant in Social Work and American Sign Language club. Balancing these commitments alongside a full time course load, I maintain honors and have consistently been on the Dean's list. My extensive involvement on campus shows my skills in managing multiple responsibilities, time management, interpersonal skills, and achieving any objective given to me.
What are some of your hobbies/interests and how are you involved at UCCS?
- On a personal level, my passion for human service drives me to volunteer in my free time. During times where I am not working or am off campus, I love to volunteer at a hospital or homeless shelter, driven by my desire to interact and support others. Within the UCCS community, I hold the role of secretary for Active Minds, senator-at-large for Student Government, and president for Women in the Public Sphere, actively contributing to campus life. I enthusiastically participate in Social Work and American Sign Language club, as well as on campus event. My engagement with UCCS reflects my genuine enthusiasm for supporting and exploring its diverse opportunities and making meaningful connections within the community.
