Why are you running for this position in the Student Government Association?
As a current senator in the Student Government Association, I am running for this position because I am passionate about continuing to represent and serve the student body, ensuring their voices are heard, and actively contributing to positive change. During my time as a senator, I gained valuable insight into how the organization works, the challenges our community faces, and the ways we can collaborate to improve the student experience. I believe that with my experience, I can advocate effectively for students, push forward initiatives that matter, and work closely with others to create a more inclusive and vibrant campus environment. This is an opportunity to build on past progress, tackle new issues, and make a lasting impact for all students.
What past experiences would make you a great candidate for the Student Government Association?
What makes me a great candidate for the Student Government Association is a combination of personal experiences that have shaped my leadership style and passion for service. As a former senator, I’ve seen firsthand the impact we can have when we truly listen to students and advocate for their needs. This experience gave me a deep understanding of how SGA works and the importance of collaboration. I know how to push for change effectively, and I’m eager to build on the work I started. In addition to my SGA work, I’ve taken on leadership roles in student organizations that matter to me. Whether organizing events, leading initiatives, or simply serving as a point of support for my peers, I’ve gained hands-on experience in problem-solving and decision-making, and I’m passionate about ensuring that everyone has a voice. Beyond leadership, I’m someone who genuinely cares about student well-being. I’ve always been the one to step up and support others, whether it’s through peer mentorship, advocating for better campus resources, or simply being there when someone needs help navigating challenges. I believe that the best leaders are those who understand and empathize with the community they serve. With this combination of experience, passion, and commitment to representing my peers, I feel well-prepared to take on this role and continue making a positive impact for our student body.
What are some of your hobbies/interests and how are you involved at UCCS?
I’m passionate about community service and leadership development. At UCCS, I’m involved in student organizations where I take on leadership roles and participate in volunteer initiatives. I also enjoy photography and writing, which allow me to creatively engage with the campus and share stories. These hobbies and interests help me connect with others and contribute to making UCCS a better place.
