• What is your name and the position for which you are running?

  Name: Skylaa Van Linn Desired Position: Senator of Military Affairs

• What is your academic major/educational track?

  College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences Major: Communications

• Why are you running for this position in the Student Government Association?

  I am running for this position to deepen my connection with my school and community. I also aim to become a mentor and advocate for my fellow students.

• What past experiences would make you a great candidate for the Student Government Association?

  I currently hold the positions of Community Service Officer for the National Society of Leadership and Success and the Public Affairs Officer for the Student Veteran Organization. In these positions, I have excelled from reorganizing the clubs' documents and rosters to creating public charity events.

• What are some of your hobbies/interests and how are you involved at UCCS?

  I am devoted to my studies and my family. As stated above, I am the Community Service Officer for the National Society of Leadership and Success and the Public Affairs Officer for the Student Veteran Organization. I also am a member of SALUTE-an honors society for Veterans. As a club officer, I've hosted & attended many events and led meetings held at UCCS. Additionally, I've participated outside of my own clubs such as donating to the school's graduation fund, participated in focus groups, volunteered as an actor for a UCCS advertisement, and attended workshops such as the UCCSLead's Game Changer.
