Why are you running for this position in the Student Government Association?
I am running for this position because I am passionate about enhancing the educational experience for students. With a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment, I aim to address concerns, advocate for improvements, and ensure that every student has access to quality education. I believe the role can help me create a positive change to our community!
What past experiences would make you a great candidate for the Student Government Association?
I am currently a liaison for ECOC(Educating Children of Color) We help dismantle the cradle-to-prison pipeline for children of color and children in poverty through education. -My major allows me to be very aware of what is needed in education and keeps me up to date with different rules and regulations -I also currently work for OIS on campus as a mentor allowing me to obtain first hand experiences with people that have intellectual disabilities and how to help them complete their education with additional support. -I have nannied and worked in a daycare as well so I have a lot of experience with children!
What are some of your hobbies/interests and how are you involved at UCCS?
In my free time, I engage in meaningful volunteer work, dedicating my efforts to various causes that resonate with me. This commitment allows me to contribute positively to my community while fostering a sense of purpose. Additionally, I have a passion for travel, which provides me with valuable opportunities to explore diverse cultures and broaden my perspective. Meeting new people is a key aspect of my interests, as it allows me to build connections, exchange ideas, and cultivate a network of diverse relationships. These activities collectively enrich my life and contribute to my personal and professional growth. At UCCS, I aim to bring this same enthusiasm and dedication to any endeavors I undertake.
