  • What is your name and the position for which you are running?

    My name is Walat Gozeh and I am running for Senator at Large.

  • What is your academic major/educational track?

    I am a sophomore and a political science major.

  • Why are you running for this position in the Student Government Association?

    I am running for this position because I believe that I hold the necessary skills to best execute this position. Senator at Large is not just about understanding the experiences of one but of all. If given the honor to be elected into this role, I pledge to understand all my fellow students point of views. All walks of life come to UCCS and I believe by hearing them, working alongside them and representing them we can make UCCS an even greater campus.

  • What past experiences would make you a great candidate for the Student Government Association?

    I have served as Senator of Events and Activities at Pikes Peak State College during the 2023-2024 school year. In this role I got to experience what it's like to work with a SGA budget. In addition I work in the Department of Student Life and Leadership, allowing me to further in grave myself in student affairs across campus.

  • What are some of your hobbies/interests and how are you involved at UCCS?

    I love pop culture, especially staying on top of the latest trends in music, movies, and TV. I also love to attend concerts whenever I can! At UCCS, I’m currently a Student at Large in SGA, which gives me a great opportunity to stay connected with the student body and help represent your interests. I’m also a MOSAIC Scholar, which allows me to engage with a diverse community and pursue academic excellence. On top of that, I’m a prominent member of UCCS's award-winning Model UN team, where I get to engage in global issues and refine my leadership skills.
