Why are you running for this position in the Student Government Association?

  • The Student Government Association (SGA) at UCCS plays a vital role in shaping a vibrant, engaging, and action-packed campus environment we all enjoy. Being part of the SGA is one of the most rewarding experiences for anyone who wants to make a tangible impact on campus life. As a passionate advocate for my fellow health science and nursing students, I am eager to take this step forward and contribute meaningfully to our community and the best way to do that is with SGA.

What past experiences would make you a great candidate for the Student Government Association?

  • During my middle school and high school years, I was actively involved in student council for a total of seven years. In my senior year, I had the honor of serving as the student body president, representing a student population of nearly 2,000. Throughout my tenure, I gained extensive experience in planning numerous events, managing funds, and providing leadership for the community during times of need. I have been recognized with countless awards for various events, assemblies, pep rallies, and more. In addition to my role in student council, I was an active member of over 12 clubs, sports teams, and theatrical activities, which has given me a broad understanding of what it means to be a student with diverse interests. In more than half of these activities, I held leadership positions, further honing my skills in guiding and supporting others. My greatest asset is the wealth of experience I have gained from participating in and leading various clubs and activities. This insight is invaluable when it comes to supporting and assisting clubs within the Student Government Association (SGA) at UCCS. I am eager to leverage this experience to make a positive impact on our campus community.

  • I am deeply involved on campus and have established myself in multiple clubs. My two notable affiliations are the Pre-Health Society and Global Medical Brigades. In Global Medical Brigades, I was honored to be voted onto the executive board in my first semester with the club. In addition to my involvement in these organizations, I enjoy taking care of myself through activities such as working out and hiking in the beautiful Colorado outdoors. I also love winding down with a simple puzzle and consider myself a bit of a nerd, with a passion for franchises like Star Wars, The Hunger Games, and many more.
