I am currently in the second year of my PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Why are you running for this position in the Student Government Association?
There are a lot of meaningful motivation behind running for this position: By joining the SGA, I aim to be a strong advocate for the student body. I am seeking to develop leadership skills and contribute to personal growth. I want to prioritizing community by organizing events and fostering connections. I am passionate about addressing student concerns and making positive improvements. I am interested in gaining firsthand knowledge of governance structures and institutional operations. This will help in recognizing the importance of networking for future endeavors and will allow me to be committed to enhancing the student experience through advocacy and improvements.
What past experiences would make you a great candidate for the Student Government Association?
From being a cultural head girl in high school, to here being President in Indian Student Alliance in my PhD, I have always been the part of organizing and heading events. I love that sense of being able to be in organizer's shoe. I have also been social media coordinator for the one of most reputed MSMEE. I have also worked in NGO as organizer. Thats why I believe, I would make a great fit for the position.
What are some of your hobbies/interests and how are you involved at UCCS?
I love dancing, anchoring, writing poems. I have participated in UCCS diwali party as dance performer. I am serving as President, Indian Student Alliance and also manage the social media of UCCS Indian Student Alliance. I enjoy doing it.
